Since 1956
Our story
Same building, same street, most of a century.
Part of the fabric of Columbiana
Davis Drug Company started with a straightforward idea: a town this size needs a pharmacy where the pharmacist knows the customers. That was true in 1956 and it is still the whole business plan.
Over the decades a lot changed around us. Insurance got complicated. Chains opened out by the highway. Ordering moved onto phones. What did not change is who walks through the door and what they need when they get here.
We have filled prescriptions for four generations of some families. Somebody who bought a fountain Coke here as a kid now brings their own grandkids in after school. That kind of continuity is not something you can advertise your way into. You just have to still be open.
So we are still open. Same corner, same counter.
Three things we have not traded away
Personal care
We take the time to understand what a customer actually needs, which sometimes means a longer conversation than the transaction requires.
Community first
We back local events, schools and organizations. This town supports us, and the arrangement only works in both directions.
Reliability
Nearly seventy years of being where we said we would be, when we said we would be there.
Founded
1956
Independent and locally owned ever since.
Under one roof
A pharmacy and a lunch counter
Prescriptions in the back, the griddle up front.
Come see the place
Whether you need a prescription filled or a cheeseburger, the door is the same one.
